About Me
Hello there! My name is Joy Weatherly and I am a student at Kennesaw State University graduating in Spring 2024.
Growing up I have always had a deep love for art (I was always getting caught doodling in class). As I got older, I began to gain interest in topics such as Computer Science and Psychology but found that working in either of those fields alone wasn't going to work for me. I needed to find something that allowed me to include my passion for art. That's when I discovered Interaction Design, which, to me, is a combo of Art, Computer Science, and Psychology. As soon as I started in the major, I fell in love with it and now I am graduating with my degree in Interaction Design.
Since I am an Interaction Designer with a focus on Visual Design, I like to focus more on the aesthetics of my work, taking the research that has been done and implementing that into my design while also making the project pleasing to look at.
When it comes to my work, I am heavily inspired by the visual aesthetics of Cyberpunk and synthwave. Often times when I am working on something, I listen to a Cyberpunk Synthwave playlist on Youtube to inspire me. Because of this, I love to incorporate these styles into a lot of my personal projects.
If I am not working on designing something, I am often found playing video games, watching anime, doing something artsy, or spending time with friends/family.
